Matching Game: Musical Instruments

Loading game...

Flip two cards at a time and match the musical instruments. The game counts a mistake when you miss a match on a card you have already seen, so try to remember every card the first time it turns over.

How to remember the cards

Instruments are easy to picture, and they come with sounds, so use both. When you flip the tuba, imagine it booming. When you flip the triangle, hear it ting. The more senses a mental image uses, the easier it is to recall.

To remember where each card is, give every position on the board a place in a memory palace. Put a cello in your doorway and bagpipes on your couch, and walk back through the palace when you need to find a partner.

Try a bigger board

Once you can clear a small board with only a few mistakes, move up a size. The larger grids are a good workout for your mnemonic images.
