National Competitions
The random words are listed with 20 words per column.
- Memorization time: 5 minutes
- Recall time: 20 minutes
Scoring
- Complete column: 20 points
- One error in column: 10 points
- Two or more errors in column: 0 points
- Spelling mistake: 0 for that word only
International Competitions
The random words are listed with 20 words per column.
- Memorization time: 15 minutes
- Recall time: 40 minutes
Scoring
Same as in national competitions.
Techniques and Tips
Read the word twice then observe the sound and structure of the word. First, try to find similar sounding word if found and you have a vivid image for it then use it, otherwise break down the word and again try finding similar sounding words for each part of broken word. To fix it in your memory you need to go to that place which this word will bring to your mind. Each and every word will bring to your mind either place sound touch sensation or feeling of liking or hating the word. Use it as trigger and it will help.
