Predictions for the 2012 World Memory Championship in London

1-minute read • Updated on

Johann Abrina wrote a couple of blog posts with predictions for the winners of the 2012 World Memory Championship in London that begins tomorrow.

Here’s a video where he memorizes a deck of cards in 22.53 seconds!

His predictions are:

  • 2012 World Champion: Johannes Mallow
  • Dark Horse: Jonas Von Essen
  • 2012 Team Champions: Germany

You can read the whole write up from December 11th here.

He posted revised predictions on the 13th. According to a different calculation the country teams would end up with this ranking:

  1. Germany
  2. UK
  3. China
  4. Philippines
  5. Sweden
  6. US
  7. India
  8. Hong Kong
  9. Netherlands
  10. Denmark

And the competitors in this order:

  1. Ben Pridmore
  2. Simon Reinhard
  3. Johannes Mallow
  4. Nelson Dellis
  5. Yudi Lesmana
  6. Ola Kare Risa
  7. Jonas Von Essen
  8. Mark Antony Castañeda
  9. Rick De Jong
  10. Boris Konrad

It does seem quite likely that Johannes Mallow could be the next World Memory Champion, but it’s difficult to know how hard other people have been training.
