The USA Memory Championship is fewer than two months away. I don’t think I’m going to be ready by then. Because of my hand injury, I haven’t been able to practice cards at all since December, and I’m still revising my systems for numbers.

In any case, I’m going to try to go, at least to watch the event.

For me, it’s more important to have my system exactly the way I want it than to try to speed things up.

I’m trying to set things up so that I can have at least a few months of serious training between March and August, hopefully by going to a quiet island in Hawaii or Greece where there aren’t many distractions other than snorkeling.

I still think you should compete! Even if you suck, actually "feeling" out the events are definitely worth the experience.

You're probably right. I should just do it for the experience.
