Verbatim App: Memorizing texts word-for-word

Not long ago, I updated an app I'd written a while back called Verbatim. It designed to help you learn even lengthy pieces word-for-word.

Here's the link: (Feel free to download it, place it on your own server, share it, etc.)

I've created a video tutorial to give you the basics of using it, as well:

Obviously, this is not intended for competitions, but rather

It is written using jQuery Mobile, so it should run on a wide variety of mobile devices.

The program is based on a technique I first learned from this post, and I've since found very effective:

Question about Verbatim 2.0 …
I've read that an effective way of memorizing a long piece that you want to recite verbatim is to learn it "backwards"; i.e learn the last line, then the next to last line, then the line before that, and so on.
Is there any way to change the order in which Verbatim 2.0 presents the material?

The Verbatim app is wonderful, btw. It's perfect for cementing the link between knowing the images in a memory palace for a particular poem and the ability to recite that same poem. As @Yanjaa has mentioned elsewhere on this forum, they're not always the same thing...

Great thinking on this. I'd only suggest adding a function where people can write out mnemonic imagery, perhaps with a Memory Palace builder. For those who don't want to spend time on rote and trigger-based rote, that could be a boon for them. :)

That's one of the things that we're working on. :)

Quick question on this. The Dropbox link no longer works... can you suggest a new link?
