The beginning of the mnemonic journey...

A few days ago I decided to create a system for myself that would be concrete and always at the ready. In the past I had previously used a form of Major system to semi-remember numbers and the like but had never really settled on 'concrete' images. This wasn't really a problem I suppose because those numbers that came up frequently enough (Benford's Law) did sort of stick in my mind - but then I was thrown when something new came up and I couldn't always 'reverse engineer' it when I cam across the image in my head.

So, here follows my list of 100 images for my mnemonic system. The images were constructed using a major system variation that makes sense to me and now (I consider it a good sign already) when I see numbers I see letters.

Phew! It's obvious that some of the images don't appear to follow the major system pattern - 58 - Guitar for example. That's because in some cases I struggled to come up with images following the rules to the letter so expanded the idea and went with it. I.e. 58 = FK = Folk = Folk songs = Acoustic Guitar. It's also obvious that there are no people in my system. I really struggle to imagine people and distinguish features. Dominic or People type systems just don't work for me. Anyhow I'm settled on the images now and that's better than I've ever done before! Onto the training..

To begin to fix these images with their numbers I created a 100 stage journey and places 1 image in 1 locus. Now I can walk through the journey and see all the images. Whilst I'm not after record breaking speeds for personal enjoyment and utilization of mnemonic principals I do want to be able to see digits and 'instantly' code these into images.

Excellent!
When I made my major system I found that I has a lot of objects for storing stuff into.
They were too similar, so I had to change them.
If this happens in your system, for example with can and bin, change one of them.
