Which memory system/technique for interactions?

Hi i'm looking for a memory system/technique to basically remember a list of things someone mentions to be during a verbal interaction.

E.g. i have a discussion with someone who tells me a list of 30+ items to buy

Is there a specific method i can learn?

And if so, are there any cool apps/software i can use to learn the process.

Cheers,
Chris

Method of Loci (memory palace) is perfect for lists of items. Story method can also work. You don't need software to learn these methods. Make sure to go to the Beginners' Portal here to learn the basics. After you've gotten a good grasp of the basics, join Memory League or Memocamp to practice these methods and/or compete against other fans of memory techniques. With practice you'll be able to memorize a list of 30 items in less than a minute.
