Stop training before a competition?

Does everyone agree that it's a good idea to stop training a week before a competition to avoid ghost images? Wouldn't 3 or 4 days before work just as well? How about training with different palaces than those you're planning to use at the competition?

My current plan is to stop training 4 days before, and spend the remaining time reviewing my systems and my different palaces (while leaving them empty). Maybe I'll also do some long term stuff, but no 5 minutes cards or numbers or words.

I think reviewing your images will be very helpful than training... then you can make a small run through your memory palace just 40 or 50 to make your imagination work well with the fresh images...

Badr...

Depends on the events. For 15 minute or 1 hour cards/numbers, you probably have to rest your journeys quite a while. I think at least a few days to a week depending on how strong your images are. But when training for the XMT, which is all 1 minute events, I could reuse the same memory palaces every day just because the images fade quicker. I personally like to train something even on the day of the competition, but it's really just a matter of preference.
