Memory League - The Purge

Introducing ...

MEMORY LEAGUE - THE PURGE!

TRIAL ONE - CARDS

This tournament takes place on the Memory League software and is open to everyone.
Competitors have exactly 48 hours to do a qualifying cards run.
After 48 hours the qualifying level gets harder and we go again.
We keep raising the level every 48 hours until 1 athletes is left standing, as the king or queen of cards!
If Cards is not your best discipline, don't worry, we will have a competition for each of the 5 disciplines so your time will come :)
But for now, cards ...

Level one is 52 cards is 60 seconds or less.
You can do it in training mode or in a head to head match, but you MUST screen capture it and post it here or pm it to me.
You must do it in the allotted time period, no exceptions.
You can have as many attempts as you want, there is no limit, just do it once successfully and post the screen shot.
Every competitor that is successful will move on to level 2.

You do not need to enter your name, so if you are not sure if you can hit the level and don't want to enter in case you go out in round one, don't worry, you can go for it and if you make it, post it, if you don't make it, don't post.
Of course you can announce your intention to enter if you choose to so we all get a feel for how many players there are.

The deadline for the first level is one extra day to give people time to read the post and decide to enter.
All other rounds will be 48 hours.
The deadline for round 1 is
7pm UK time on Saturday 10th February.
Remember, level 1 is 52 cards in 60 seconds.
There are a maximum of 7 levels in total.

This competition starts right now!

Hi Ian/Erin

Sure, well done for getting 26
For the next round could you screen capture the whole page so it includes your screen name and all of the faces?
What is your i.d. on Facebook so I can tag you in future posts as the rounds move on.

Ok, thanks. My name is Darren Michalczuk but I'll probably miss this round. I'm in the hospital for brain surgery and can't get a decent screenshot on my iPhone. Thanks for organizing this though. Looked like fun.

The 26 for this round is fine, you are through.

The second round will be from Saturday 4th at 8pm UK time to Monday 6th at 8pm UK time.
If you are free to try, the level required will be 21 names.
If you manage the 21 names during the time period, send me the image.

In the mean time, good luck in the hospital, I wish you well.

The Names purge is over!
Katie Kermode is our gold medalist and has proved once again that she is the number one on the planet at memorizing names and faces.
She already holds all 3 world records.
- 200 in 15 minutes
- 97 in 5 minutes
- 30 out of 30 in 60 seconds
Now in the purge she has confirmed her position with the winning score, by memorizing all 30 names in a time of 43.52 seconds!

She also produced a perfect score 6 times, which is more than anyone else, all under 50 seconds.
During the shootout - 43.52 - 48.04 - 49.07
During earlier rounds of the purge - 47.27 - 49.54 - 49.81
However, amazingly, 9 athletes were able to achieve a perfect score!
Here are the final finishing positions …
Gold Katie Kermode
43.52 – Best of 6
Silver Nelson Charles Dellis
45.44 – Best of 4
Bronze Jan-Hendrik Büscher
52.22 – Best of 3 was 48.13 in an earlier round
4th Alex Mullen
53.51 PB – Best of 2
5th John Graham
55.90 PB – Best of 3
6th Simon Reinhard
28 names – Best of 2 was 56.41 in an earlier round
7th Boris Nikolai Konrad
No score – Best was 60.00 in an earlier round
7th Daniel Evans
No score – Best was 60.00 in an earlier round

9th Marcin Maskow Kowalczyk
Didn’t make the shootout but 47.60 in an earlier round
