“It’s about 70 minutes long and it’s all in German, which is challenging for a lot of these folks, because they don’t speak German,” Tucker says. “So it’s a big task and, you know, you can read their anxiety sometimes on their faces.”

He says the only way to accomplish such an overwhelming assignment is to take it in pieces, setting small goals along the way. His singers memorize one movement a week. How they do that varies.
