What I do, is have a memory palace ready. Then when I want to memorize something, I put it in the memory palace. I also make a note in excel at the loci, so I can't forget the image I put there.

Not everything, but I can do most. I work associative, I ask myself what it reminds me of. Should I read about Francis Galton being the founder of psychiatric genetics, I imagine a French looking Dalton brother, carrying in his arms what seems to be a mental baby, but the baby is actually a huge piece of DNA. Just what pops to mind, and what works for me.

It is what I do, but it is not needed per se

Take the image from before. I could have him open the front door after I ring the bell, I could add some breastfeeding to the image and put it on the couch (just to make it crazy), I could have the image cooking in the kitchen, so many posibilities! your creativity is the limit.

I learned a long time ago not to try and capture too much. Instead, I use limiting operating rules that wind up making it possible to memorize way more. I have an infographic with podcast about how to memorize a textbook you can check out if you want.

As for math, have you learned the Major Method / Major System yet? It's very powerful. :)
